Frédérick Mouraux is pleased to invite you at the Gallery, to the Solo Exhibition of the French Artist Julien Salaud as part of the new Event RendezVous Brussels / Brussels Art Week.

Exhibition at the gallery : Open until October 26, 2024, from Tuesday to Saturday 11 am to 6pm
Julien Salaud (born in 1977, lives in Haute-Loire and works in Saint-Etienne, France) is an artist with an atypical career path. After studying science, he turned to ethnology before spending several years in French Guiana, where he worked in the rainforest to protect the environment. Upon his return to France, he began training in the visual arts. In 2010, he was the revelation of the 55th Salon de Montrouge, and in 2012 his work was presented at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris. After several exhibitions in France and abroad, he developed a new artistic approach in collaboration with the Maison Folie le Colysée de Lambersart for the Eldorado project (lille3000), drawing on human relationships and creating social links around his artistic practices. Nourished by his many travels and personal experiences, the artist has learned a great deal about the weight of feelings, the power of legends and that of the imagination. For several years now, Julien Salaud has been working with materials and techniques familiar to the Amerindians: beads, feathers, furs, arrow knots, weaving... He has also turned to working with wax, metal (lead and tin), wood, straw, plaster and, more recently, ceramics. Today, he is developing his work with the aim of achieving an ecological balance through committed works and techniques that respect the environment and natural resources.
